FT8-robotit tulevat kuitenkin:
DX-peditiot vastaan ARRL Meneillään oleva Tokelau, ZK3A; peditio ilmoitti etukäteen, että heillä tulee olemaan FT8-modella robotti, joka huolehtii yhteyksien pitämisestä. Stathis, SV5DKL; oli valmistanut peditiolle ohjelman, joka automaattisesti huolehtisi FT8-yhteyksistä.

Mutta ... Kuten edellisessä OH3AC Kerhokirjeessä kerroimme, ARRL teki juuri päätöksen, etteivät automaatti- eli robottiyhteydet enää kelpaa DXCC-todisteisiin. Yhteyden aloittamiseen tarvitaan "inhimillinen panos." Pian tämän ARRL:n ilmoituksen jälkeen ZK3A-pedition sivuilta poistui ilmoitus robottikusoista.
Dan, KB6NU; kirjoittaa blogissaan että robotit tulevat aivan varmasti peditioille.
Ja kysyy – samalla tavalla kuin OH3AC Kerhokirje – miten ARRL voi todistaa että peditio käytti robottia?
Robottien salliminen on tietenkin eettinen kysymys. Kuinka pitkälle haluamme antaa yhteyksien pitämisen automatisoitua? Vai riittäisikö, että ainakin toisen osapuolen pitää olla "aito ihminen." https://www.kb6nu.com/dxpedition-to-use-ft8-robots

Part of the rule says "... the cardinal principle to be followed must be that it is immaterial whether the contact is a known participant or not in IOTA."... yes it is obvious for many of us, but IOTA board believe it was time to write it down to ensure good fairplay and avoid elitism in this program

Please take a step back and think about similar situation in the DXCC program : for example, someone going to activate Bouvet or Crozet isl. but only QSO DXCC Honor Roll people (or even extreme .. only DXCC #1 HR hi :) .. Don't you think it will be fair ? of course not since it will deny QSO anyone that is in ham radio since about 20 years, and I bet the DXCC board will react even quicker to this unfair situation.

It’s fair to say the following IOTA Management update is in response to the K6VVA Endicott Island NA-004 expedition whereby the operator regularly called for “HRAL“.

IOTA Management attaches importance to the maintenance of fair play as far as is practicable. From time to time a set of circumstances occurs where official intervention is considered justified. One such case is where there is seen to be apparent intentional unfair, even discriminatory, treatment of people in the making of contacts or issue of QSL cards or QSO matches. In this regard the cardinal principle to be followed must be that it is immaterial whether the contact is a known participant or not in IOTA. Failure to observe fair play in cases like this is sufficient justification for rejection of the operation for IOTA credit on grounds of it bringing the IOTA Programme into disrepute. All participants are asked to have regard for our long established tradition of acting in accordance with the best of ham spirit.

Siellä on periaatteessa hyvää tarkoittavia ohjeita. NA-004 retken lokia hän on peukaloinnut jälkikäteen ja poistanut sielä kutsuja oman mielensä mukaan, jotka ei hänen ohjeisiin ole sopinut. Tästä IOTA:lle on valitettu, jonka johdosta yllä olevat säännöt julkaistu. Ja mitkä on sanktiot jos näitä ei noudateta. Hyväksytäänkö tämä kyseinen retki IOTAn listalle?

Kaikki näistä ohjeista ei vain sovi harrasteeseemme, se rajoitus vasta-asemista jos ei ole aktiivinen Iota kerääjä, se ei ole minun käsitykseni tästä harrastuksesta, jonka pitää olla kaikille avoin.

Jatkuuko tämä toiminta tässä muodossa näiden IOTA sääntö julkistuksen jälkee jää nähtäväksi, K6VVA/7 suunnitellussa NA-187 retkessä se sitten kuullaan. Ainakin tuo ohje sivu oli edelleen luettavissa14.9.2019 klo 05.011Z
