Will W0ZRJ and myself Bill KH6OO will be on Tahiti March 10 to the 17th, 2018.
We have our official documentation will be staying on the North shore of Mt. Orohena on the island of Tahiti.
We plan to run one 100w station(Flex 6700) using a vertical dipole antenna on 10 thru 20 meters and a magnetic loop on 30 and 40 meters. Primary modes will be in this order CW, FT8 and JT9/65.
All contacts will be uploaded to LOTW, eQSL, QRZ and Club Log(OQRS) at the completion of our trip.
In addition,,,,EVERYONE in the log will be sent a QSL via their buro. Please do not send us bureau cards.
Tips to get into our log.
Use propagation prediction tools
Remember propagation isn’t always reciprocal.
CW Operation:
Please don't call us faster than we are sending. If we don't come back to you it maybe because there are other, stronger stations who are masking your signal, so be patient.
Call 1kc up, we will be listening there even if not instructing 1up.
FT8 Digital mode:
We will be decoding 3.5kHz beginning 200hz below the band plan. So when you decode us find a clear spot and call us. If you call on our transmit frequency we may not decode you if others are calling there. We will only send the "RR73" message and call next decoded call sign to speed up the process. To further speed the process please only send the signal report message. We do not need your "grid" information. Only expect a "RRR" or “73’s” message.
HOPE TO SEE YOU IN THE LOG
