EA6VQ: uusi päivitys DXMAPS
Dear DXMAPS.COM subscribers:
I am happy to announce the BETA version of the future DXMAPS version 3.0.
I have tried to maintain a very similar user interface so that it will take you almost no time to get used to it, however behind that layout almost all the code has been rewritten. This means that there can be (there surely be) things not working correctly, so I will appreciate that you test it and report me any bugs you could find, before it is made public to other users.
PLEASE don’t repost yet this announcement to other forums/social networks. For now it is just a BETA version only for your tests.
The main features in this version are:
· Maps make use of the Google Maps API, what means many advantages regarding the old fixed maps:
o They can be zoomed in and out.
o They can be dragged to better fit your area preferences.
o Different layers can be applied.
o Terrain/satellite maps can be selected.
o They don’t need to be reloaded regularly but just updated, what means faster visualization of updates.
· Maps, lists and band graphs are updated every minute, instead of every three minutes.
· More options to select what you want (and don’t want) to be drawn on the maps, etc.
· MUF ES world map available.
· Options to filter by modes.
· Click on any location to get more information (DXCC, WAZ, WAC, etc.) on it.
· QSO Lists and band graphs use the same color codes to show the source of the information.
· QSO Lists and band graphs also show the callsigns of Supporter Users on a yellow background.
· It remembers your selections from the last visit, provided that you use the same Internet Browser and that cookies have not been deleted on your side. If this doesn’t work for you then you have to check your browser configuration and make sure that cookies from DXMAPS.COM are allowed and not deleted automatically.
· And last but not least, the new programming of the application should make easier to make changes and add new features in the future.
So far both the new and old versions are available, but as this means taking double of the resources of the sever the old version will have to be removed after some months, so I hope that with your help I can fix before any trouble that could arise. Don’t forget to include screen hardcopies together with your reports.
It has been tested with latest versions of Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari (IOS). Compatibility with older versions or other browsers can’t be guaranteed.

If you don’t feel comfortable with BETA versions please disregard this message and continue using DXMAPS.COM as until now.

SSB: 26.12. 1100–1159 UTC (1300–1359 Suomen aikaa)
CW: 26.12. 1230–1330 UTC (1430–1529 Suomen aikaa)
RTTY: 26.12. 1400–1500 UTC (1600–1659 Suomen aikaa)
SSB- ja CW-osissa noudatetaan sprinttisääntöä:
Asema ei saa kutsua testikutsua samalta jaksolta koko aikaa. Kun joku on vastannut testikutsuun ja kuso on pidetty, on taajuudella ensin olleen aseman siirryttävä vähintään 2 kHz:iä. Vastannut asema saa jäädä kutsumaan taajuudelle. Jaksolta lähdettyä saa kuitenkin plokata toisen aseman, vaikka se olisi alle 2 kHz:n päässä.
